Where is Mangawhai?
Lying on the sunny east coast Mangawhai and Mangawhai Heads are only an hour or so from Auckland’s North Shore. Big enough to have a number of attractions yet small enough to feel like a getaway.
Turn off SH1 to Mangawhai and you will leave all the trucks and traffic behind. A small detour will take you to Auckland’s hidden secret - Te Arai Beach. Or carry on to Mangawhai and you can choose from surf or harbour beaches and, if you are continuing north, the beautiful Langs Beach and Waipu Cove.
At Mangawhai you can browse the Museum shop, enjoy high tea at Jessies cafe, or visit one of Mangawhai’s other cafes, restaurants and exclusive gift shops.
Mangawhai Museum is part of Mangawhai Domain,with its bush walks and Activity Zone it’s a perfect stop for children.
